Rainbet VIP: what the tiers are actually worth

Loyalty programmes in this industry are marketing with mathematics inside. This page is about the mathematics: how the ladder works, what 70% rakeback is worth in real money, and why the programme is genuinely useful to someone already playing and never a reason to play more.

All figures are in US dollars, matching the account balance.

Five tiers, automatic promotion

The ladder runs Bronze → Silver → Gold → Platinum → Diamond, and you are on it from your first stake. No application, no invitation, no code. The tier follows accumulated turnover and rises when you cross a threshold.

Benefits stack going up:

  • Bronze — rakeback, a daily reload and a daily bonus. The base package, available immediately.
  • Silver — adds the Pre-Monthly Bonus and larger reloads.
  • Gold — higher rakeback rates and weekly free spins.
  • Platinum — stronger bonuses, with more of the value landing on the main balance rather than as restricted bonus funds.
  • Diamond — top-rate rakeback, a dedicated VIP contact, and the best reloads.

That detail about value shifting to the main balance at the upper tiers is worth pausing on. Money on your main balance is yours and can be withdrawn. Bonus funds are bound by wagering terms. Two amounts that look identical in a promotional line can be very different things, and the difference is the whole of the value.

How rakeback works

Rakeback carries the programme, so it is worth understanding exactly what happens.

Every game has a built-in house margin. On a pokie with 96% RTP the margin is four per cent. Stake 1,000 USD in total on that game and the house’s expected revenue is 40 USD. Rakeback returns a share of that 40 USD — not of your stake, and not of your loss.

At 30% rakeback you get 12 USD back, and the effective margin falls from four per cent to 2.8%. At 70% you get 28 USD back, and the margin falls to 1.2%.

Two consequences follow.

Rakeback pays regardless of result. You receive it whether you won or lost, because it is computed from turnover and margin rather than from outcome. That is why it is worth more over time than a one-off bonus of the same nominal size.

Rakeback does not flip the mathematics. Even at 70% the house retains a positive margin. The programme makes play cheaper, not profitable. Any presentation suggesting otherwise is wrong.

What 70% is worth in real money

Put numbers on it. Suppose you stake 3,000 USD a month across games averaging four per cent margin. The house’s expected revenue is 120 USD.

  • At Bronze, on a low rakeback rate, a modest share of that 120 USD comes back.
  • At Diamond, at 70%, you receive 84 USD back and your expected monthly cost falls from 120 USD to 36 USD.

That is a substantial relative improvement. But look at what happened to the base. To reach Diamond, your turnover has to be high enough that giving away 70% of the margin still makes commercial sense for the operator. The tier that pays the best rate requires exactly the volume of play that makes the margin large enough for that rate to be worth offering.

That is not a trap. It is just the arithmetic, and it is worth seeing clearly before you start treating a tier as a target.

Why not to chase the tiers

This deserves its own heading, because it is the only advice here that can actually save you money.

Moving up a tier requires more turnover. Every additional dollar staked costs you the house margin. The reward is a larger share of that same margin returned — on future play. You are paying full price now for a discount later, on money you have not yet decided to spend.

Rakeback is a discount on play you were going to do anyway. The moment it becomes the reason to play, it has stopped being a benefit and become a cost driver.

Reloads and periodic bonuses

The remaining benefits fall into two groups.

Reloads are deposit bonuses for existing players. They grow with your tier, and they carry the same conditions as any other bonus — wagering, game weighting, maximum bet. The five terms set out on the bonuses page apply here without exception.

Periodic bonuses — the daily bonus, the Pre-Monthly Bonus, weekly free spins — are smaller amounts on a regular cadence. Individually modest. Summed across a year, for someone who plays regularly, they come to more than the welcome offer did.

The Diamond VIP contact is a support channel rather than a benefit with a cash value. Useful when something goes wrong; it changes no numbers.

How this differs from a points programme

A conventional casino loyalty scheme awards points you later exchange for bonus funds. The rakeback model Rainbet and other crypto operators use differs on three points that genuinely matter.

Payout frequency. A points programme pays at milestones — enough points, end of month. Rakeback can be claimed every 15 minutes. That is not only a convenience: money you can claim continuously is money you can withdraw, whereas points waiting on a milestone are a claim that assumes you keep playing.

The form of the reward. Points usually become bonus funds with wagering attached. Rakeback lands on the main balance at the upper tiers. That is the difference between money and a voucher with conditions.

Transparency. Rakeback is a percentage of a quantity you can calculate yourself: turnover times house margin. Points systems generally have an exchange rate that is hard to translate into real money and that the operator can adjust.

The net is that rakeback is a more honest construction than points. It does not make it anything other than a discount — but the discount is easier to value, and that is worth something on its own.

The New Zealand comparison

A programme built around volume is worth setting against the framework New Zealand has just adopted, because the contrast is sharp.

Under the Online Casino Gambling Act 2026, a licensed operator carries a duty in section 39 to take all reasonable steps to minimise the risk of harm, must check a register of excluded players established by regulations under section 75(3), and must not offer credit to players at all under section 42. Harm minimisation is a licence condition, enforceable by the Secretary for Internal Affairs, with a pecuniary penalty behind it.

A VIP ladder is built to do the opposite thing: to reward increased turnover with better terms. Both can be entirely legitimate commercial models, but they pull in opposite directions — and at Rainbet there is no statutory brake on the other side. Whatever limits exist, you set them and you can lift them yourself, immediately.

Rainbet holds no New Zealand licence and operates on an Anjouan Gaming Board licence. Playing there is not an offence for you — the full position is on the is Rainbet legit page — but it does mean no New Zealand authority supervises how this programme works or whether its terms are applied as written.

Responsible play

Loyalty schemes work by binding you to a platform. That is worth being conscious of, not because it is hidden, but because it works best when you are not thinking about it.

Set your limit independently of what tier you are on. The Gambling Helpline is free and confidential on 0800 654 655, 24 hours a day, or text 8006. More on the responsible gambling page.

18+ only. Only play with money you can afford to lose.

Frequently asked questions

How do I join the VIP programme?

You already have. It runs automatically from your first stake — there is no application, no invitation and no code. Your tier rises on accumulated turnover as you pass each threshold.

What are the tiers?

Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond. Each step raises the rakeback rate and adds benefits: daily reload and daily bonus at the bottom, then a Pre-Monthly Bonus and weekly free spins, up to top-rate rakeback and a dedicated VIP contact at Diamond.

What does up to 70% rakeback actually mean?

It is the share of the house margin on your play that comes back to you. Seventy per cent is the Diamond rate, not the starting rate. It can be claimed every 15 minutes and it accrues on turnover regardless of whether you win or lose, because it is calculated from margin rather than from outcome.

Do sports bets count towards my tier?

Yes. Casino and sportsbook share one account, so all turnover builds the same tier. Sports wagering also carries a 3x weighting in the weekly and monthly races, which is a separate benefit.

Can I drop a tier?

Programmes of this type usually build on accumulated turnover, so a tier once reached tends to hold. Which benefits require ongoing activity — reloads and periodic bonuses, typically — is set by the operator's current terms. Check them there, because they can change and there is no New Zealand regulator holding the operator to what they said last month.

Is chasing a VIP tier worth it?

No, and it is the most useful thing on this page. Rakeback reduces the cost of play you were doing anyway. Increasing turnover to reach a tier means paying the house margin on every additional dollar in order to receive a share of that same margin back. The arithmetic never favours you.
