The Rainbet sportsbook, from an Irish angle
The sportsbook shares one account and one balance with the casino; nothing moves between them, and every bet counts towards the same VIP tier. More than 30 sports are covered, pre-match and in-play, with singles, accumulators and outright markets.
For an Irish punter, though, two things need saying before the markets: betting is the half of Irish gambling that is now licensed, and Rainbet’s menu does not lead with the sports Ireland bets on most.
The legal position, stated once
Betting is where Ireland’s new regime is already live, so it needs its own paragraph.
The Betting Act 1931 was repealed on 5 February 2026. In its place, section 67(1) of the Gambling Regulation Act 2024 says no one may provide a betting activity, online or in person, without a betting licence from the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland. Section 67(4) makes a breach an offence punishable by up to eight years’ imprisonment on indictment. Licences have been issued since 1 July 2026; the register held 42 on 20 October 2026, Irish household names among them. Rainbet is not on it.
That prohibition binds the operator. It does not bind you: there is no offence in the Act for placing a bet. But it explains why offshore sportsbooks are the GRAI’s first target, and why Stake shut its Irish service in September 2026 after the regulator engaged with it. A sportsbook that takes Irish bets without a licence is exactly what section 75 lets the GRAI take to the High Court. The wider picture is on is Rainbet legal in Ireland.
What is actually on the menu
We checked the sportsbook from a residential Irish connection on 21 October 2026. Its quick menu led with:
- Football — the big European club competitions, including Champions League and Europa League nights, and international football;
- Tennis, which runs almost all year and prices cleanly with no draw;
- Boxing and MMA;
- Basketball, including the NBA and EuroLeague;
- Ice hockey, with the NHL;
- American football and baseball;
- Esports: Counter-Strike 2, League of Legends, Dota 2 and Valorant, with their own map and round markets.
Golf and volleyball are among the other sports the book carries. Market depth varies, as with any bookmaker: a Champions League tie carries far more markets than a lower-league fixture.
Racing, GAA and rugby: check before you deposit
This is the most useful paragraph on the page for many Irish readers, so it is blunt.
We could not confirm horse racing, greyhounds, Gaelic football or hurling anywhere on Rainbet’s sports menu, and we could not verify rugby markets either. Rainbet is a crypto-first book built for an international audience, and its menu reflects that. If most of your betting is Irish racing or the GAA championship, look at the live menu yourself before you fund an account, rather than discovering the gap afterwards.
The Irish-facing bookmakers on the GRAI register are the obvious place to look for those markets. That is not a recommendation of any one of them; it is the plain point that the book should fit your betting, not the other way round.
How to read a price
Odds are not a prediction. They are a price: the book’s estimate of probability, plus the margin that pays for the business.
Irish punters often think in fractions. To convert to decimal, add one: 5/2 becomes 3.50, evens becomes 2.00, 1/2 becomes 1.50. To get the implied probability, divide one by the decimal price: 2.00 is 50%, 1.50 is 66.7%.
Add up the implied probabilities of every outcome in a market and you get more than 100%. The excess is the margin, and it is what betting costs you over time. A heavily traded two-way market might carry two or three per cent; a niche market in a small league can carry ten or more. Same stake, same bet type, very different cost. Choosing which market to bet is a stronger lever on your long-run results than choosing which side.
Live betting
In-play prices move with the match, which opens bets you could not make before the start and changes the tempo entirely. A market that suspends after a goal or a knockdown is the book recalculating, not a fault.
The speed is the risk. Decisions shrink from minutes to seconds, and the gap between what you see on a stream and what the book has already priced always favours the book. Live betting is the part of any sportsbook where a stake limit set before the match is worth the most.
Cash-out, where it is offered
Where a bet can be settled early, the cash-out value is derived from the current odds — and always sits a little below the position’s fair value. That gap is how the feature pays for itself. Used occasionally, to bank a long-odds bet that has come good, it earns its cost. Used as a reflex, it quietly erodes returns.
Accumulators
Combining selections multiplies the odds together — and the margin too. A four-fold where each leg carries five per cent margin hands the book close to eighteen per cent of the whole bet. The payout is big because the probability is small, not because the value is better.
That does not make accas wrong. It makes them a high-variance, low-expectation product that deserves a small share of whatever you have set aside — the entertainment part of the budget, not the strategy.
Races: sports count triple
Rainbet runs daily, weekly and monthly leaderboard races on turnover. In the weekly and monthly races, sports bets count three times as much as casino wagering. If you bet on sport anyway, that is a genuine advantage. There is also a separate $500,000 sports prize pool.
What the weighting must not do is generate bets you would not otherwise have placed. Chasing a leaderboard position with selections you do not believe in is a reliable way to lose more than the prize was worth.
Bankroll: the part nobody advertises
Everyone argues about which bets. Almost nobody discusses how much, and that is what decides whether you still have a balance in three months.
Set aside a total and make each bet a fixed small share of it — one to three per cent is a sensible starting point. On a $1,000 bankroll that is $10 to $30 a bet. At three per cent you can lose ten in a row and still hold most of your money; at twenty per cent, five losses empty the account, and five losses in a row happen to good bettors more often than they expect.
The other half of the rule is harder: the stake does not go up after a loss.
Funding and payouts
The sportsbook uses the same cashier as everything else: crypto in, a US-dollar balance, crypto out — normally within 5 to 15 minutes, from a $15 minimum. No bank sits in the path, so a bank holiday Monday does not delay a withdrawal. There is no euro route in or out; the conversion happens at your exchange, in both directions, with its own costs. The crypto page has the detail.
18+ only. Betting feels like knowledge in a way casino play does not, and that is where the risk hides: the sense of control runs ahead of the real thing. Set the stake before the match, not at half-time. Gambling Care is free on 1800 936 725, 24 hours a day. See responsible gambling.

Frequently asked questions
What sports can I bet on at Rainbet from Ireland?
More than 30. Viewed from an Irish connection on 21 October 2026, the sportsbook's quick menu led with football, American football, baseball, boxing, tennis, ice hockey, MMA and basketball, plus four esports: Counter-Strike 2, League of Legends, Dota 2 and Valorant. Golf and volleyball also appear among its sports. European club football, the NBA and the NHL are covered.
Can I bet on horse racing or GAA at Rainbet?
We could not confirm either. Neither horse racing, greyhounds, Gaelic football nor hurling appeared in the sports menu we saw, and we could not verify rugby markets. If Irish racing or GAA is most of your betting, check the live menu before depositing, or use a GRAI-licensed Irish bookmaker.
Is Rainbet's sportsbook licensed in Ireland?
No. Since 1 July 2026 taking bets from people in Ireland has required a betting licence from the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland, and Rainbet is not on its register. Under section 67 of the Gambling Regulation Act 2024 that is an offence for the operator, punishable by up to eight years on indictment. It is not an offence for you to place a bet.
Does Rainbet use fractional or decimal odds?
Rainbet's prices are quoted for pre-match and in-play markets; if you are used to fractions from an Irish bookmaker, convert by adding one to the fraction: 5/2 becomes 3.50, evens becomes 2.00 and 1/2 becomes 1.50. Implied probability is one divided by the decimal price.
Do sports bets count in Rainbet's races?
Yes, and at triple weight: in the weekly and monthly races, sports wagers count three times as much as casino play towards your leaderboard position. There is also a separate 500,000 dollar sports prize pool.
How do I get winnings out to an Irish bank?
Not directly. Winnings are paid in crypto, normally within 5 to 15 minutes, from a 15 dollar minimum. Turning them into euro and moving them to an Irish account happens at your exchange, which charges its own spread and fees.
